Thomas Thorby-Lister
Thomas Thorby-Lister’s conceptually driven practice spans across painting, site-action, printmaking and digital media. Through abstraction, fieldwork, and site-specific projects, he examines the limitations of traditional representations of information. Using collected digital visual information, Thomas uses alternative methods and materials to record and describe physical environments. Recent projects explore the concept of agency, the complexities of geography and cartography, and weather data. Thorby-Lister seeks to challenge conventional notions of representation and offer a new perspective on the relationship between information and perception.
